Helping kids understand money
- A guide for parents

Children are naturally curious about money. They notice coins, ask to buy things, and enjoy counting and sorting. At this age, financial literacy is not about complex math's - it’s about building positive habits, simple understanding, and confidence.

This guide can be used alongside Big Plans or on its own. It is designed specifically for pre-school aged children, helping you introduce money concepts through play, conversation, and everyday experiences. It works best when used little and often and revisited.

Why it matters

Good money habits start young.

Big Plans gives grown-ups a natural way to talk about earning, saving and spending - without it feeling like a lesson.

It’s playful. It’s positive. And it helps build confidence that can last a lifetime.
