All through play, stories and imagination.

Big Plans is:
It’s designed to help grown-ups and kids start money conversations early, in a way that feels natural and fun.

By Bank of us in partnership with award-winning local game studio Secret Lab, as part of our commitment to helping future generations be in the best possible shape financially.

Children are naturally curious about money. They notice coins, ask to buy things, and enjoy counting and sorting. At this age, financial literacy is not about complex math's - it’s about building positive habits, simple understanding, and confidence.
This guide can be used alongside Big Plans or on its own. It is designed to help you introduce money concepts through play, conversation, and everyday experiences. It works best when used little and often and revisited.

Good money habits start young.
Big Plans gives grown-ups a natural way to talk about earning, saving and spending - without it feeling like a lesson.
It’s playful. It’s positive. And it helps build confidence that can last a lifetime.

Bank of us has “Big Plans” to help children be confident with money, launching an original game created with Secret Lab, a world-class Tasmanian developer.
For children aged 5 to 8, ‘Big Plans – A Show Day Adventure’ uses storytelling and play to introduce key financial concepts: like the value of money, the difference between needs and wants, and how to plan, prioritise and make choices.
Importantly, the game was designed with children’s safety top of mind. There is no data capture, no online interaction and no in-game marketing. While the game includes a visit to a bank store as part of the story, it doesn’t promote banking products.
Big Plans is an interactive game for children ages 5-8 that helps them learn about money through a fun story and activities.
Set in a fictional Tasmanian town preparing for its annual show, children guide the story through a week of money choices, mini business activities and planning for the big day.
The game has been designed for children 5-8 years old. Children in this age group are often beginning to understand the concept of exchange and value, they are increasingly independent when it comes to making choices and are forming attitudes about money and work.
The game uses visual and audio cues to help guide children who are developing their counting and reading skills.
There are short, engaging activities designed for younger attention spans, Big Plans encourages learning through story and play while helping children build positive attitudes towards money, work and planning ahead.
