Bank of us & Master Builders Tasmania new partnership

Tasmanian customer owned bank, Bank of us and Master Builders Tasmania today announced a partnership that will help boost the prosperity of the Tasmanian building and construction sector.

The two organisations have formed an exclusive working relationship that will help Tasmanians achieve their home building and renovating goals and benefit Master Builders members.

Master Builders Tasmania executive director Matthew Pollock said the building and construction industry is home to more small businesses than any other Tasmanian industry.

“There is no doubt that some of our member businesses are doing it tough.

Through our partnership with Bank of us, MBT members will be able to take advantage of benefits that will directly support their businesses, which indirectly will ensure that the building and construction industry plays a key role in Tasmania’s post -COVID-19 recovery.

“It is a privilege to partner with a company like Bank of us, which shares such a strong commitment to the community. This relationship will put us in a stronger position to deliver expert services to our members and consequently improve the professionalism and prosperity of the industry,” said Mr Pollock.

Bank of us was established in 1870 as a Building Society with a sole purpose of providing housing finance to Tasmanians said Bank of us chief executive Paul Ranson.

“We are pleased to be partnering with MBT as we come out the other side of COVID-19,” said Mr Ranson.

“As a newly signed up and proud MBT service provider member, we understand that these are challenging times and we can work with MBT members to determine the best way to support them.

“We will provide more value than just our competitive products and service. As the only Tasmanian customer owned bank, we can help the industry with networking, education and information services - services that aren’t just a one-size-fits-all but have been designed by Tasmanians for Tasmanians.

“We know that confidence in the building industry is crucial for the survival of so many of our local small businesses, including Bank of us. We may be a small cog in the overall scheme of the industry, but we’re hoping by partnering with MBT we can do our bit to ensure a prosperous future for all Tasmanians.”
