Bank of us celebrates 1 year milestone of MyHome housing program in Tasmania
Bank of us is proud to be helping more Tasmanians into their own homes through the MyHome shared equity program.
Bank of us CEO, Paul Ranson said: “The first year of MyHome has been very successful with 162 MyHome purchases across the state- that means about 300 Tasmanians getting into their own homes.”
131 purchases were for existing homes, 31 were new house and land packages.
97 purchases were in Southern Tasmania, 29 in the North and 26 in the North-West.
Under MyHome, an eligible home buyer’s home is jointly purchased with Homes Tasmania, helping owner occupier home buyers to buy their own home sooner. Buyers can choose to build their own home or purchase an existing home.
Tasmania’s only customer owned bank, Bank of us is the exclusive lender, delivering the program in partnership with Homes Tasmania.
“For 153 years, Bank of us has been focussed on supporting more Tasmanians into homes and the MyHome program is the perfect example of how we are continuing to do this.”
“We’re confident that we’ll see more new homes built in the coming year as developers and builders work with their customers to take advantage of MyHome.”
