The race has a long and very proud history – 2016 marks the event’s 32nd year! The event attracts upwards of 4,000 competitors, ranging from elite athletes to recreational joggers and walkers alike.

Starting and finishing in the heart of Burnie’s central business district, the 10km out and back course winds along the ocean front, ensuring competitors can make the most of a fresh sea breeze and beautiful scenery.

A bright, sunny and 16 degree day greeted those who turned out for the 2016 B&E Burnie Ten on Sunday, October 23. A field of 2,426 runners and walkers lined up for the start of the 10km race. With a further 465 participants choosing to take part in the event's 5km race.
Brett Robinson won the B&E Burnie 10 men’s race in 28 minutes, 29 seconds, closely followed by Jordan Gusman who crossed the line in 28 mins, 39 sec. Stewart McSweyn finished in third place with a time of 28 mins, 45 sec.
Eloise Wellings won the B&E Burnie 10 women’s race in 33 minutes, 19 seconds, followed by Victoria Mitchell who crossed the line in 33 mins, 35 secs. Lara Tamsett came in third with a time of 33 mins, 43 secs.
First Tasmanian across the line was Launceston local, Kate Pedley in a time of 35 minutes and 21 seconds.
